Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark and incised upper eyeliner, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with row of sculpted teeth between the outlined lips, brunette mohair wig in long braids over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 208 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912. Value Points: rare glass-eyed version of the smiling character with very fine detail of sculpting around the eyes and having dimpled cheeks, chin and philtrum, enhanced by fine quality of bisque, wonderful antique costume.
