Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with painted blonde boyish hair, painted facial features, intaglio dark blue side- glancing eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with "O" shaped whistling hole in lips, original muslin body with whistling bellows in torso, composition hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6774 Heubach (square) Germany. Comments: Heubach, circa 1915, marketed as "Whistling Jim", the doll emits a whistle when bellows squeezed. Value Points: rarer model with wonderful expression, working whistler, great Scottish costume.
