6.5" (17 cm.) l. 4.5" h. One piece bisque vignette depicts the persons of explorers Peary and Cook as they endeavor to roll a very large snow ball with abstract designs of the North and South Pole. Each figure has highly characterized features including different moustache, angular or strong face, incised worry lines, and each is entirely enclosed, except for face, in heavily grouted "snow" costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9439 (incised Made in Germany (green stamp) Peary Cook (incised under each figure). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910, the rare piece commemorated the Peary's 1909 Expedition to the North Pole.
