6" (15 cm.) Mama, 5" kids. Each is one piece bisque figure with highly characterized facial features and hair, sculpted costumes. Condition: generally excellent except chip on Mama's ear. Comments: Germany, circa 1912, depicted are characters from the original illustrations in the 19th century German children's stories by Wilhelm Busch, later evolved into the popular American comic strip known as The Katzenjammer Kids, included is Mama Katzenjammer and Max and Moritz. Value Points: the rarity of the trio is rivaled by outstanding sculpting, character definition, imaginative detail of costumes.
