Description
17" (43 cm.) x 13" card. Still tied on their original factory sample heavy card paper display board are 22 all-bisque comic characters and dolls, including six models of Bonzo dog in two variations. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Germany (and various name). Comments: Hertwig, circa 1920,the German porcelain firm specialized in imaginative and nostalgic figures of popular culture as well as more traditional sculptures, as seen in the book Hertwig and Co., Archives by Florence Theriault. Value Points: the diversity of Hertwig's production line is well-shown in this very rare sample card from the firm's original showroom.
