Description
3" (8 cm.) x 4 1/2" painting. 7" x 9" framed. The miniature
gouache painting depicts a beautifully detailed interior scene in
which a fashionably dressed girl with blue bonnet is presenting
her little doll,to the out-stretched arms of another well-dressed
girl she is visiting. The costume details extend to minute and
authentic costumes details that vary on each child,and there are
beautifully rendered architectural and decorative details. The
painting title "La Visite" is lettered in the left corner,and the
initials L.L. are in lower right. Luigi Loir,French,circa 1885. A
superb miniature painting of a tender domestic childhood scene.
