Description
3" (8 cm.) A silver-framed miniature sailing ship with turning wheeled base and movable waving flag is decorated with hand- painted enamel scenes depicting children and romantic couples in country and seaside scenes. There are ten different people featured in the scenes, and the detail of decoration includes both sides of the sail and the underside of the ship as well as the ship sides. Excellent condition. Late 19th century, a rare model of the miniature art.
