20" (51 cm.) Terra cotta shoulder head portraying a woman with
long sculpted grey hair in tousled style,deeply defined facial
features with age wrinkles,enamel eyes,strong nose,closed
mouth with defined teeth,definition of throat muscles,hemp-
wrapped armature body,terra cotta sculpted hands and feet in
very expressive poses. Condition: generally excellent,one baby
finger broken,original finish with very minor wear. Comments:
Neopolitan,early 19th century. Value Points: fine large size with
beautiful sculpting,original elaborate silk costume of village
lady,the costume lined with old Italian papers.
