28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with pear-shaped facial
modeling,very plump cheeks,almond shaped eye sockets,brown
glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,mauve blushed eye shadow,widely arched brush-stroked
brows with feathered detail,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined
lips,pierced ears,dimpled chin and cheek corners,blonde mohair
wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden eight-
loose-ball-jointed body with flat-cut derriere base,straight
wrists,beautifully costumed in antique silk and lace
dress,matching bonnet,undergarments,knit stockings,ivory silk
shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SCH (in shield) 13
(on head). (also marked SCH on derriere). Comments: Schmitt
et Fils,circa 1884. Value Points: superb quality of sculpting with
wonderfully defined features,finest quality bisque and
painting,original body and body finish.
