Solid domed paper mache shoulder head with black painted pate and modeled ears,creamy complexion with blushed cheeks and eye shadow,tiny black enamel glass eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,open mouth with upper and lower inset teeth,hand-stitched pink leather body with shapely torso and defined muscles,padded bosom,one piece curved arms,one piece shapely legs with gusset-jointing at hips,stitched and separated fingers,tiny feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French,circa 1850. Value Points: superb original pristine condition,the pretty doll with sturdy body wears her original delicate rose silk frock with fitted drop- waist,trumpet sleeves,stiff muslin stomacher,two petticoats,pantalets,black silk slippers; the original costume is so complete as to even include the original decorative silk wrist bracelets.
