Description
The gown is created in a striped/plaid printed silk faille fabric of cream and royal blue and features pouf sleeves with fitted arm bands, fitted bodice and waist, and box-pleated skirt. A large rounded collar at the back forms into two wide lappets that form a V-shaped decoration at the front. The collar, neckline and cuffs are edged in blue piping. The gown is fully muslin lined and has tiny pearl button and thread loop closures. Circa 1863. Near mint condition.
