Description
The crisp, yet soft, black silk taffeta evening or ball gown has an interwoven leaf design, fitted bodice and waist, low cut neckline, three tiered flared sleeved to just above the elbow, and an attached extended collar that crisscrosses over the bodice before tying at the back and extending the back length of the skirt. The gown is decorated with narrow black silk zig-zag ribbons and lace medallions. The gown is muslin lined and completely hand-stitched in the tiniest of stitches. Near mint condition. Circa 1863.
