Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with well-defined modeled bosom and throat hollow, large grey/blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale accented lips, pierced ears, very pale blonde mohair wig over cork pate, very firmly stuffed kid body with bodice cut very low to reveal modeled bisque bosom, cinched waist, kid upper arms and legs, bisque arms from above the elbows, bisque legs from above the knees with feet shaped as though wearing high heels, modeled shoes with holes in soles for positioned on original stand, antique ivory silk gown with undergarments. Comments: Radiguet & Cordonnier, circa 1880, their deposed fashion lady was named "statuette-poupee" in their 1880 registration; inspired by their theatrical costume background, the young couple sought to design a fashion lady for costume display purposes; the story of Radiguet & Cordonnier is told in detail in The Encyclopedia of French Dolls by Theimer. Value Points: extremely rare fashion poupee with unique sculpting of shoulder plate, arms, and bisque heeled feet, has superbly beautiful face, and her very rare original wooden base for posing.
