15" (38 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque
shoulder plate,cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes,thick black
eyeliner,painted curly lashes,arched brows,accented nostrils and
eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,ears pierced into
head,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body with
gusset jointing,padded bosom with square cut
collarette,wooden arms with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows
and wrists,separately carved fingers. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: D (backwards on head). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru,his signature poupee body and earliest version of
the smiling poupee,circa 1865. Value Points: pristine condition
of the virtually unplayed with poupee,along with her trunk and
trousseau comprising three dresses,various
undergarments,cape,jacket,two tabliers,fur muff in box,two
hankies monogrammed "M",two fancy bonnets,white
cap,corset,three pairs of ankle boots,black veil pagoda-shaped
parasol with blue silk and Alencon lace cover,red leather purse
with gilded chain,and a pearl jewelry arrangement in original
box comprising necklace,two bracelets,watch with brooch
fob,and earrings.
