Description
24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted bisque eyes with movable eyelids allowing the dolls to appear as though opening and closing their eyes, inserted eye brows, accented nostrils, open mouth with outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, dimpled chin, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1159 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 11 1/2. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1900. Value Points: rare variation of "sleep" eyes; few examples are known to exist of this unusual style.
