Description
11" (28 cm.) Of textured sand-colored terra cotta with fired enhancing glaze, the bust depicts a pensive young girl whose modeling is most suggesting of the bisque doll designed by the same artist, Albert Marque. Signed A. Marque on front right shoulder. French, circa 1905, the very rare model may well be the bust presented by Marque in the 1904 Salon d'Automne, later evolved into the bisque doll he created for The Renaissance of the French Doll. Excellent condition.
