24" (61 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with elongated sculpted of plump cheeks, inset blue glass paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner encircling the eye-cut, painted lashes, brush-stroked and multi- feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, modeled space between the shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition eight-loose- ball-jointed body with straight wrists and plump limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884. Value Points: outstanding beauty and originality of the endearing child, having original soft blonde curls, original body and body finish, wearing Jumeau couturier costume of aqua sateen with flounce back and multi-tiers of lace and pleats, bavolet bonnet, embroidered lace undergarments, blue knit stockings, leather shoes signed Bebe Jumeau, original turquoise and gilded necklace and earrings, original ivory silk and lace parasol, and in her original box.
