11" (28 cm.) Depicting an adult lady and gentleman,each with poured honey wax head,sculpted hair and painted facial features,and each on original all-wooden Grodnertal-type body with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,painted lower arms and legs,painted red flat shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Grodnertal,circa 1840. Value Points: fine details of head modeling include ringlet curls tucked behind her ears on the woman,and goatee and sideburns on gentleman; each with its original hand-sewn silk costume decorated with metallic threads or silk embroidery.
