Description
18" (46 cm.) One piece all bisque bust of young blonde haired
girl on self-pedestal,having sculpted intaglio side-glancing blue
eyes,grey and black eyeliner,painted short lashes,lightly
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined
lips and double row of teeth,blonde sculpted hair,arms extended
from torso in expressive pose. The girl has an extravagantly
sculpted and decorated costume that extends all around the
form,and included Dresden ruffled bonnet,gold buttons,pink and
blue bows,ruffled,gilded edging,and floral decorated wide yellow
bonnet bow and streamers. Excellent condition,hidden virtually
imperceptible reglue of right arm behind the sleeve ruffle.
Germany,circa 1890,the large size and elaborate decoration
indicate its possible production as an exhibition model.
