Description
36" (91 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulder head with rounded facial modeling, black painted pate with stippled curls around the face, black enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, two upper and two lower teeth, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointed limbs, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the French market, circa 1860. Value Points: grand exhibition size poupee with lovely antique silk costume, bonnet, blue kidskin slippers
