11" (28 cm.) Bisque socket head,deep blue glass paperweight
inset eyes,painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with
outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,early
French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body
with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J 2.
Comments: Joanny,circa 1885,the small firm created luxury
bebes at its establishment on the prestige address of 202 Rue de
Rivoli in Paris. Value Points: signed models of the distinctively
sculpted Joanny bebes are very rare,this body particularly so in
petite size,and wearing a beautiful antique
costume,undergarments,kid slippers,original wig.
