14"(36 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump facial modeling,almond shaped small blue glass
enamel eyes,dark eyeliner,short feathered lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth,accented lips,pierced ears,blonde lambswool wig over Schmitt
pate,composition and wooden-eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists,flat cut
derriere,wearing antique brown woolen suit with felt hat,brown knit stockings,leather shoes with
impressed symbol of hot air balloon and "marque depose". Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
Sch (in shield) OO (head) (body and pate also marked Sch). Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1882.
Value Points: fine early Schmitt bebe with exceptional detail of modeling on this petite
