21"(53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,deep blue glass
paperweight inset eyes,dark painted lashes,rose blushed eye shadow,thick dark brush-stroked
brows with feathered detail,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with tiny "stuck-
out"tongue tip,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,padded stockinette over
armature body with composition lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.
8 G. (head,shoulders) Gesland Bte SGDG Paris (body). A La Providence 74 Rue de Rivoli (shoes).
Comments: Gaultier Freres with Gesland body after the depose by Pannier,circa 1888. The doll
was sold in the Paris toy and doll shop A La Providence. Value Points: beautiful doll has
wonderful antique costume of red woolen dress with black velvet trim,undergarments,red
woolen stockings,fancy black leather shoes with store label.
