20"(51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet covered base is a bisque-head doll with blue glass
paperweight inset eyes,lushly painted lashes,widely arched brush-stroked brows,accented eye
corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth,shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair
wig over cork pate,carton torso and legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms. Condition:
generally excellent,mechanism and music function well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG
4 (head L.B. (key). Comments: Leopold Lambert,circa 1890,when wound the doll turns her
head side to side while alternately lifting the bouquet of flowers she holds in her right hand as
though sniffing them,and then lifting the lid on the wicker tray of beautiful flowers she holds
in her left hand to display other flowers; meanwhile music plays (La Rosiere
Mazurka"according to original tune label on base). Value Points: beautiful bisque doll wearing
her original (frail) silk costume and bonnet with delicate and appealing animations and
accessories,original tune label.
