22"(56 cm.) Standing upon a velvet covered platform is a paper mache clown with exaggerated
features,over-sized red-tipped nose,beaming smile with row of painted teeth,brown glass
eyes,painted clown decorations,frizzled wig in clown dyed colors,carton torso and legs,wire
upper arms,bisque forearms,wearing silk clown costume with colorful glass stars,and carrying a
wooden guitar with painted flowers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Roullet &
Decamps,circa 1900. When wound,he moves his head side to side,then nods,and pauses,while he
strums the guitar,and music plays. Value Points: appealing automaton with wonderful facial
expression,great state of preservation,functions well.
