Bisque socket head,brown glass eyes,dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,brush- stroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,open mouth,outlined lips,four porcelain teeth,pierced ears,wheat blonde human hand-tied wig,metal torso with sound holes containing Edison phonograph,Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed limbs. Condition: generally excellent,mechanism functions well,feet retouched. Marks: S 2 H 1009 Dep st. Comments: Simon and Halbig,with Edison phonograph in torso interior,winding at the back,circa 1895. Value Points: very rare mechanical music box which makes beautiful music; the marketing attempt was unsuccessful and few examples of the rare doll ever appeared on the market.
