15"(38 cm.) Posed upon a paper mache base designed to appear as a grassy garden knoll is a bisque-headed woman with blue glass enamel eyes,painted features,closed mouth,original brunette wig with decorative "jewel"coronet,carton torso and legs,wire upper arms,paper mache hands,wearing original bronze green silk and lace costume,and standing behind a wooden harp. Condition: good,surface dustiness on original costume,mechanism and music function well. Comments: Vichy,circa 1875,when wound,two tunes play and the woman turns her head side to side while plucking the harp strings with fingers of both hands. Value Points: lovely quality of music,beautiful and rare portrait face.
