Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades,pale blue paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,short painted lashes,brush-stroked feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,parted lips although modeled closed except for drilled hole for nursing bottle,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French kid bebe body with kid over wooden upper arms,wooden lower arms,Chevrot hinged upper legs,wooden lower legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head) Bru Jne N. 4 (shoulders) (original paper label on front torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1886,his deposed Bebe Teteur or nursing Bru with original rubber ball/metal turn screw mechanism in head. Value Points: early model of the deposed bebe has beautiful expression and clarity of eyes,lovely bisque,fine condition of original body,intact mechanism.
