Description
13"(33 cm.) h". x 12"x 9". Upon a wooden platform case with lithographed paper and painted
designs is a slant-roofed hen house with fancy paper covers,a bird in the eaves,stairs in
front,and a fox standing behind a wooden table with a roasting pan and two iron tongs.
Arranged around the yard are four chicks and a rooster posed upon a log. When the porcelain-
knob handle is turned,the chickens bob up and down as though pecking food,the fox turns
eagerly from side to side as though contemplating his next morsel while the rooster periodically
lifts his head and crows loudly in warning. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed
to Zinner and Sohne,circa 1890. Value Points: delightful and vibrant mechanical toy with amusing
action and music that function well,well-preserved condition.
