Description
60"(152 cm.) A child-sized version of a tall case clock,the mahogany cabinet features inlaid
satinwood,ebonized pencil striping,pleated emblems and two columns that flank two door panels
for accessing the clock and the pendulum. The case is surmounted by a Sheraton-style pediment
centered by an urn-shaped brass spire. The metal clockface is decorated with an animated
sunrise scene of a masted ship with lighthouse in the backdrop; the ship rocks to and fro with
the beat of the pendulum. The 3-train clockwork has 8 gongs that strike the house and chime on
each quarter-hour. Condition: generally excellent,functioning well. Marks: Mason and
Sullivan,Germany,mid-20th century. Value Points: charming diminutive clock with excellent gong
and delightful animated ship scene.
