Description
4"(10 cm.) x 2 3/4". A rectangular shaped box with carved bone bracket feet,stop/start lever and
oval medallion on lid is covered with pink guilloche enamel edged with gilt-lobed borders and
set with gilded cast rosettes. Tucked beneath the oval medallion with raised detail of bird and
flowers is a tiny feathered bird,which,when wound,causes the bird to arise,turn side to
side,flutter wings,open and close beak,and sing. Excellent condition. Circa 1950. The bird box
was in the private collection of the late Frank Sinatra (catalog provenance included).
