12"(30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder
plate,pale blue glass enamel eyes,painted lashes,lightly
feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with pale
outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,kid
poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips,knees and
elbows,stitched and separated fingers. Marks: 0 (head) Jumeau
Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa
1878,the doll is wearing her original costume of fine
embroidered muslin with silk rose ribbons,fur muff,braided
coronet in hair,earrings,original undergarments,leather slippers
with maker"s mark. Included with the doll is a note,viz. "This doll
was purchased in Russia by an American engineer who was
serving as consultant on the construction of the Trans-Siberian
Railway. He brought it as a gift for his daughter who was born in
1883. She is wearing all of her original clothes". Value points:
pristine unplayed with condition with white firm body,having
Jumeau label,rare to find gusset jointing on tiny size 0.
