16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with rich dark brown complexion, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, black mohair wig over plaster pate, brown composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E made in Germany 9. Comments: Kestner, circa 1900. Value Points: the doll wears her original blue chambray nursing dress with white apron and cap bearing Red Cross emblem, along with Red Cross button "I Serve", original handmade undergarments, stockings, shoes, and in (frail) original box from G. Schwarz Toy Store of Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, from the original Becker family estate of Pennsylvania. The doll has superb quality of complexion and original body finish.
