Description
12" (30 cm.) Wooden-bodied doll with pin and dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, metal hands and feet, shapely torso, has solid domed paper mache head with glass inset eyes, lightly painted features. Condition: very good, finish on hands worn, feet repainted, paint wear at neck socket. Comments: Mason-Taylor doll, Vermont, the head appears original to the doll, although uncertain, circa 1880. Value Points: unique American doll whose past is a curious yet intriguing mystery.
