Description

30" (76 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, slightly modeled brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, accented lips, four porcelain teeth, dimpled chin, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.M. Bergmann Simon & Halbig 13 1/2. Comments: Bergmann, circa 1915. Value Points: the doll wears its all-original WWI khaki doughboy costume with U.S. brass emblems on collar, hat, jodphur pants, boots, and his sweetheart's hankie in a pocket. The doll was from the original Becker family of Pennsylvania, along with dolls 264 and 265 of this catalog, until they were acquired by Carole Jean Zvonar for her collection.
