Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, brown glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, umber blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, shaded lips, row of tiny teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, carton torso with clockwork mechanism, composition upper arms, kid over metal upper legs, paper mache legs. When keywound and lever released, the doll cries, kicks, and waves arms. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Marks: (Au Nain Bleu paper label on torso). Comments: Jules Steiner, the bebe marketed as "Gigoteur" was offered at the luxury Parisian toy store Au Nain Bleu, circa 1890.
