Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, rounded facial modeling with pale complexion, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, open mouth with double row of teeth, brunette human hair wig, carton torso, kid-over-metal rod upper legs, composition lower legs and arms. When wound the bebe waves arms and legs in babylike fashion, turns head and cries "mama", wearing antique muslin chemise, stockings, blue leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent, arms are not original. Marks: Livre 17-11-66 J. Steiner (delivered November 17,1866). Comments: Steiner's Bebe Gigoteur, one of the first models of this bebe that remained a popular doll for more than 25 years during the late 19th century.
