12" (30 cm.) doll. 22"width of frame. A walnut-framed octagon shaped shadow-box with gilded lining contains a bisque swivel-head fashion lady with blue eyes, painted facial features, closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid gusset-jointed body with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 0. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1875. Value Points: in a beautiful state of preservation with near mint firm body, the poupee wears her original costume and is presented with a garland of silk flowers where she has been presented for 130 years.
