20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with ebony black complexion, unique sculpted ethnic features, small brown glass sleep eyes, black painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils of small rounded nose, open mouth with full lips, two porcelain upper teeth, black fleecy hair, black composition baby body, antique red cotton pinafore dress, knit stockings. Condition: generally excellent, few small wig flakes (under wig). Marks: 251 SQ (intertwined). German 10 1/2. Comments: Schutzmeister & Quendt, circa 1915. Value Points: beautiful complexion enhances the highly characterized features; the doll is previously undocumented in doll literature
