Bisque socket head portraying an adult lady with slender-shaped face having strong cheek and jaw lines, brown glass "flirty" eyes that operate from an internal glass rod, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, daintily painted brows with light feathering, accented nostrils of elongated aquiline nose with upturned lip, virtually closed mouth with narrowest of opening below the row of sculpted teeth, impressed cheek, chin and philtrum dimples, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, blonde mohair wig, wearing antique lace dress, undergarments, rose satin boa, straw bonnet with rose silk bows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1398 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 6. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910, only one other example of the previously undocumented model is known to exist; the doll differs from its 1388 sister by slightest mouth opening, and slightly narrower nose and firmer jawline. Value Points: extremely rare model enhanced by its compellingly beautiful appearance.
