12" (30 cm.) All wooden doll with egg-shaped oval head, high forehead, elongated throat, flat-back torso with shapely bosom and waist, simplistic wooden one-piece arms and legs, defined fingers, inset black enamel eyes with "dot" fringed lashes and brows, spot-blush on cheeks, tiny closed mouth, original wig cap with remnants of original hair. Condition: generally excellent, original paint well preserved with nose rub, wig sparse. Comments: England, late 18th century. Value Points: the doll wears an early olive green silk faille gown, petticoat, and has letter of provenance indicating that she was owned by the John Stevens family of Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1802
