8" (20 cm.) Terra cotta turned head, bald pate with sculpted tufts of hair with sideburns, painted facial features, large blue eyes, thick brows, closed mouth with beaded teeth, hemp-wrapped body with terra cotta hands and feet, painted sandals, wearing brown monk's robe. Condition: very good. Comments: early 19th century. Value Points: fine detail of sculpting on early characterized face.
