14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, cobalt blue glass enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips and hint of smile, defined chin, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, all wooden body with dowel-jointed articulation at shoulders, elbows and wrists, hip, knees and ankles, and ball-swivel at waist, separately carved fingers and defined toes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D (head and left shoulder) B. Jne et Cie (right shoulder). Modele Depose (stamp on kid collarette). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1867, the articulated body model was deposed in 1867,based upon early artist mannequin body styles and construction. Value Points: wonderful state of preservation on the petite poupee with rare signed Bru head for this model, unusual body stamp, fine original body finish
