27" (69 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and chin, blue glass eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, short brush-stroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open mouth, shaded and outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, tongue, blonde mohair wig, composition bent limb baby body, antique peach linen dress with embroidery, lace bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 980 M Germany 16 DRGM. Comments: Marseille, circa 1920, with hidden music box in torso, and clockwork mechanism that causes the baby to create four amusing activities: turning head side to side, arms waving, eyes moving from side to side as though following an activity, while he licks his tongue from side to side. Value Points: very rare and delightful character whose antic movements are complemented by facial expression and beautiful bisque, original body and body finish, great larger size.
