40" (102 cm.) Pale bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, painted dark lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, accented lips, row of porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde human hair, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: CMS (intertwined in triangle) Fulper Amberg Dolls the world's Standard (incised). Comments: Fulper, New Jersey, circa 1917, the CMS initials refer to Charles Martin Stangl who headed the Fulper factory mostly know for its dinnerware; the factory produced dolls during the WWI hiatus on German dolls. Value Points: rare exceptionally large doll, believed to be the largest of this firm.
