Description

24" (61 cm.) w. x 13"h. x 12"d. A stage-like wooden setting with removable display window panels at either side of the "entrance" is a well-laden French grocer's store, ready for the day's business. There are 18 spice drawers at the back, each with porcelain label of its contents, wooden stairs leading to the top ledge, and a wooden table at the center. The floor has original diamond-patterned design in lithographed paper, and the store has original ebony finish and rose trim (retouched). There are 30 miniature early tins, a brass coffee grinder, glass decanters, and five plates of paper mache food and baked good. A porcelain dog stands guard. Very good condition, a rare luxury style store that is very well fitted. Circa 1875.
