Description

28" (71 cm.) l. x 11"h. x 17"d. A five-sided wooden shop with open front and wooden floor is presented as a busy millinery shop, having a back wall display cabinet with sliding glass doors and finished with decorative gold paper decoupage, along with a matching free-standing long counter. Two walls contain large engravings of women or women with children with original frames, designed to appear as large oil paintings, and there is a gilded brass mirror on another wall. There are four chairs, a settee and matching table, another table, decorative clock and porcelain urns and other accessories. The cabinets and tables are laden with a bounty of miniature bonnets and other fineries, along with laces, ribbons, straws, and fabrics for creating bonnets. There is a bisque-headed shop-keeper. Very good condition. Circa 1875.
