Description
10" (25 cm.) The children's game of nine pins ("jeu de quilles") is humorously presented as a candy container with nine brown silk clad paper stock cylinders, each topped by a bisque head with blue glass eyes, closed mouth, and blonde mohair wig, tied together as though a nine-pin set. The center figure has removable head for access to the candy container hollow. Bisque heads by Gaultier, circa 1890, the novel and imaginative candy container was likely the special commission of a prestige Parisian candy store. Excellent condition.
