Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades, brown glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, brush stroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined pale lips, bebe kid body according to Bru depose, bisque lower arms, bisque hands. Condition: generally excellent, very faint 1/4" line above ivory knob, chip at back shoulder plate at neck, paint rub on brow, kid patched on knees. Marks: 2/0. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the earliest model of his deposed Bebe Teteur, circa 1880, with ivory turning knob at back of head, intact nursing mechanism inside head, that allows bebe to suck baby bottle. Value Points: very beautiful and rare early model with great expression, perfect hands, wearing beautiful antique embroidered silk baby costume with "Au Nain Bleu", carrying bone and silver baby rattle; wicker chair is included.
