18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, neck articulation allowing head to tilt forward and side to side as well as swivel, blue almond shaped eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French wooden poupee body with stretched kid cover, so-called "baggy legs" kid construction over dowel-jointed knees and hips, dowel-jointed metal upper arms and half of lower arms, bisque hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Hameau label). Comments: the poupee was commissioned by the luxury Parisian doll store, Au Musee des Enfants, of Julian Hameau, circa 1870. Value Points: the beautiful poupee has rare Dehors neck articulation system, rare body style, original boutique label, and wears superb white pique gown with soutache trim, undergarments, matching cap.
